CLASSES & PROGRAMS
All classes take place at the CENTER FOR THE CREATIVE ARTS located at 410 Upper Snuff Mill Row, Yorklyn, DE 19707.
Registration for our 2023-2024 session is now open; classes begin Sept. 5!
Year-round registration also available.
TODDLER
(Ages 2 to 3) This class is for our littlest shamrocks! We'll introduce dancers to the world of Irish dance and teach the basics of rhythm, posture, counting, and footwork.
Class schedule: Tuesdays, 4:45-5:15 pm
LEVEL 1
(Ages 4 & up) We'll introduce dancers to the world of Irish dance (foot placings, music, rhythm, posture, counting & footwork) and learn beginner dances (reel & light jig).
Class schedule: Saturdays, 9-10 am
LEVEL 2
Students continue to focus on mastering the basics (foot placings, music, rhythm, posture, counting & footwork) and full dances (reel, treble jig, slip jig & light jig)..
Class schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 pm
(Start and end times are subject to change depending on training.)
LEVEL 3 & 4
For our most advanced students (prelim and open champs). Dancers will train and master all soft shoe (reel/slip jig) and all hard shoe (treble jig/hornpipe) dances. This is a very challenging level and requires dedication and commitment to practicing both in the studio and at home.
Class schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 pm.. (Start and end times are subject to change depending on training.)
DRILLS, WORKSHOPS & PRIVATE LESSONS
Drills: Level 3 & 4 dancers are invited to hone their skills at our fun-yet-challenging Drills classes on Mondays from 6::45-8:45 pm. Level 2 students are invited at teacher's discretion.
Workshops: These intensives are scheduled periodically throughout the year, usually leading up to major competitions and events.
Private lessons: Sign ups for private lessons are available the last Friday of each month. (Level 2, 3 & 4 families will be emailed the booking link with instructions.)
Dancers will be evaluated and placed in the appropriate class for which the student is best suited.
Competition level is not always the deciding factor for class levels.
